The House of Roskosh

We began where most suppliers stop.

Roskosh was not built by people who found a market in hair. It was built by someone who worked with it, was failed by it, and decided the standard had to be set somewhere.

Every house begins with a frustration.

Ours began in the chair - with hair that photographed beautifully and behaved badly. Coated to feel expensive for a fortnight. Blended from donors who never met. Sold with a story that could not be traced past a warehouse.

The House

Founded by an expert, not an investor

“I built the house I could not find as a professional.”
The name

Luxury, in the language of its origin

Roskosh is the Russian word for luxury. We chose it because the hair comes from there, and because a house should be named in the language of the people who make it possible - not translated into something easier to sell.

Our emblem is a matryoshka. Nested, one within another, each figure whole in itself. It is the closest thing we have found to what we do: layers that belong together, and a quality that holds all the way through rather than stopping at the surface.

How we source

Relationships, not transactions

Single-donor Slavic hair cannot be ordered from a catalogue. It is earned slowly, from people who have no reason to trust you yet - and who reserve their best for the buyers who have proved they are serious.

  1. First

Learning what could not be trusted

Samples that bore no relation to the consignment. Hair sold as virgin that lifted three shades in a bowl. Every lesson paid for in money, and in client confidence.

  2. Then

    Working past the middlemen

Testing consignment after consignment until the collectors worth dealing with could be told from the resellers. Every supplier we kept had to prove themselves over months, not on a first order.

  3. In time

Being trusted with the best of it

The finest lengths are never offered to strangers. They are set aside for the buyers who return, pay properly, and do not haggle over what is rare. That standing took years to earn, and it is the quiet foundation of this house.

  4. Today

    Finishing it ourselves

Colouring, keratin encapsulation, double drawing and made-to-measure work carried out in our own atelier - so the standard is not handed to a third party at the final step.

What we hold to

Four things we will not move on

I

Single donor, always

One head of hair, kept together. Never blended to make up weight, because blended hair never behaves as one.

II

Nothing hidden in a coating

No silicone to flatter hair that cannot flatter itself. What you touch in the first week is what you touch in the fortieth.

III

Sourced ethically, told honestly

Donors are paid fairly and hair is traced to its origin. Where we cannot verify something, we say so rather than dress it up.

IV

Rarity is not manufactured

A piece is one of a kind because it genuinely is. We would rather tell you something has gone than reprint it.
